Bahrain’s Commander-in-Chief Attends Hamad 2 Joint Drill

16 Mar 2017

Commander-in-Chief of the Bahrain Defense Force (BDF) Field Marshal Sheikh Khalifa bin Ahmed Al Khalifa attended Tuesday part of the joint military exercise (Hamad 2), organized by the BDF with the participation of a number of Egyptian warships and fighter aircraft, Bahrain News Agency (BNA) reported.

Upon arrival at the Isa Air Base, the Commander-in-Chief was welcomed by the Inspector-General, Major-General Abdulla Hassan Al-Nuaimi, Royal Bahraini Air Force (RBAF) Commander Air Vice-Marshal Sheikh Hamad bin Abdulla Al Khalifa, senior BDF officers and heads of the delegations participating in the joint exercise.

He was then briefed about the joint drill's goals, as well as about the stages of the air exercise regarding the aircraft participating in it.

The BDF Commander-in-Chief welcomed members of the Egyptian delegations, and conveyed to them greetings from His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, the Supreme Commander, and thanked them for their participation.

He also lauded the fraternity and cooperation between the servicemen of the armed forces of the two countries, which, he said, was reflected throughout the various stages and events of the drill, highlighting the importance of such drills in enhancing the combat performance of the armed forces in the two countries, which will strengthen their defense potentials.

Held within the framework of bilateral military co-operation, the drill aims at consolidating deep-rooted historic relations, deepen fraternal pan-Arab relations and bolster joint Arab action, he added.

The Commander-in-Chief expressed pride in the outstanding efforts exerted during the first stages of the joint drill, which, he said, reflects the advanced level of cooperation and coordination between the Bahraini and Egyptian armed forces.
